With most courses needing rain it was the case that on the day of the event we should have some persistent drizzle making it difficult for the youngsters taking part in this established County Junior Competition. Still it did not dampen the spirits of some youngsters especially the home side of Wareham who had a team in for the second consecutive year which is good to see.

Swanage Cricket Club - The Season So Far

On Saturday the team are securely in mid-table having won 5 matches and lost 7 in Division 2. The highlight of the batting was Ian Booths' century at Witchampton - he also passed 50 on 4 other occassions. Mike Nash also struck 4 fifties with Ben Baczala and Francis Kerins also scoring 2 half-centuries. Tom Wake-Walker and Paul Higham have also registered 50's.

Successful Weekend For Swanage Cricket Club

On Saturday, Swans played hosts to COMPTON HOUSE in their latest Division 2 encounter. Swans batted first and got off to a flying-start with a half-century opening partnership between MIKE NASH and FRANCIS KERINS. NASH made a sparkling 44 before KERINS was joined by PAUL HIGHAM together they put on 75 for the second wicket.

On Saturday, Swans played hosts to BLANDFORD in their latest Division 2 encounter. The visitors batted first and got off to a flying start reaching 121-1 off just 21 overs. The game changed with the introduction of IAN BOOTH and BEN BACZALA. BOOTH bowled his off-breaks superbly and BACZALA'S spell of seam-bowling was exceptional.

On Saturday, Swans travelled to WITCHAMPTON in a crucial match in Division 2. After being put into bat on a lively wicket, Swans got off to a sound start through MIKE NASH and IAN BOOTH. When NASH fell for a solid 21 PAUL HIGHAM came to the wicket to join BOOTH, together they put on a match-winning partnership of 160 at 5 runs an over.

On Saturday, Swans played hosts' to BERE REGIS in their latest Division 2 encounter. Swans got off to a great start with a 70 run partnership between IAN BOOTH & MIKE NASH. When NASH fell for a sparkling 41, BOOTH was joined by FRANCIS KERINS together they kept-up the momentum of the innings with a stand of 60, before BOOTH fell for a sensational run-a-ball knock of 93 - which included 10 boundaries.
