Editorial &
Photographic Submissions
We accept the following forms of
editorial submissions WITHOUT prior
arrangement, via email (we DO NOT accept hand-written pieces):
Letters
You must keep your letter under 400 words (or it may be edited), and
include your full name and address. We do NOT accept anonymous letters
under any circumstances.
Spotlight Diary Entries
Diary entries are FREE for non-profit community groups & events,
registered charities (local) and regular advertisers who hold local
public events.
A charge of £5.00 (excl VAT) is made
to all profit-making/business groups who wish to advertise events for
which there is a charge to the public (keep fit classes, etc).
If you’re unsure if you qualify for a
free entry, please contact us.
Please submit your Diary entry before
the due deadline in the following format:
Diary listing type (Daily or
Weekly), date, time, VERY BRIEF description of event/class/meeting,
admission fee (if applicable), contact information.
You must also include your full contact information so we can
contact you if required.
For chargeable Diary entries, please
fill in a
Booking Confirmation Form, sign
and return to our office along with your Diary entry.
Diary entries are printed on a first
come; first served basis – we often have too many to print, so please
ensure you have your diary entry in on time for the best chance of
inclusion.
We cannot guarantee to print any free
submission for the Diary pages due to a finite amount of space
available each month (paid entries are always printed).
Local Groups & Organisations Page
To submit your update on your local group or organisation, please
email no more than 70 words maximum, including your full contact
details. We have very limited room on our Groups page, so once again,
first come; first served. We cannot guarantee to print any submission
for the Groups page due to a finite amount of space available each
month.

Articles
If you wish to submit an article on any topic, you may do so by prior
arrangement. You will be given a set word limit, and we will want to
discuss your chosen topic and angle of writing before arranging to
accept your piece for consideration. Please
contact us to discuss your
ideas before sending anything in.
Staff Writers / Columnists
We have several permanent staff writers working for The Gazette,
covering local & national news stories and writing monthly columns.
If you are interested in writing a
column or editorial piece each month, please
contact us to discuss your
ideas and any openings we may have for regular writers.
Photographic Submissions
Many people send us pictures for our Front page & Contents page.
Pictures range from wildlife shots to event coverage.
If you’d like to submit a photograph
for consideration, please send a digital file (jpg) attached to an
email, as it comes off your camera - please do not
crop/lighten/darken/sharpen your image in any way, nor change the
picture size or dpi. Please include your full name and contact
information so we can contact you if required and credit your picture
to you if printed.
